Both teams come into this game with perfect records at 4-0 in Division III lacrosse.

Ursinus sits at No. 8 in the USILA Poll this week, while Montclair State sits just outside the top 20. The Bears have beaten two teams in the top 20 this year, having taken down then No. 20 Stevenson and then No. 20 Christopher Newport at the bookends of their games played thus far. Sandwiched in the middle are two wins against Mary Washington and Eastern.

Montclair State hasn’t faced a top 20 team yet this season, but did beat DeSales in its first game of the year, 11-3, against a team picked to finish second in its conference (MAC Freedom). This game is a prime opportunity for Montclair State to nab a top 20 win and gain some major momentum heading into its next matchup against Stevens, who was picked to finish first in the MAC Freedom conference this year, having posted a 3-1 record this season, their only loss at the hands of Dickinson College, ranked No. 18 at the time in an overtime period.

UMass comes into this game after upsetting the No. 1 team in the country in Yale University, while Albany is coming off two big wins against Drexel and Harvard. This will be as blue-collar as a lacrosse game can get (see tweet below for a bit of humor) between the Great Danes and the Minutemen in what could be a physical matchup.

Be on the lookout for Albany’s Tehoka Nanticoke, who has returned to top-form thus far this year with 16 points on the season and was named this week’s America East Offensive Player of the Week for his eight-point performance in a win over Harvard last weekend.

Albany’s defense will have Gabriel Procyk and Jeff Trainor to deal with, as both players have scored 13 points thus far in the season coming off of their win over the nation’s top team.

We’ve got another major battle brewing tonight in NCAA Lacrosse between Loyola and Towson at the Ridley Athletic Complex in Baltimore, Maryland.

Loyola comes into this game as the No. 11 team in the country according to Inside Lacrosse, while Towson was picked as the No. 17 team heading into the season, but have lost its first three games. The Tigers will look to change direction against Loyola, while the Greyhounds have a win over Hopkins and Rutgers while also having a close loss to defending-champion Virginia to open the season.

Hobart Men’s Lacrosse has scored 69 goals through three games. That’s right, Hobart is averaging 23 goals per game. Watch the video below to see how potent the offense is for the No. 19 team in NCAA Men’s Division I Lacrosse.

In related news, Hobart is not the only offensive juggernaut in college lacrosse. North Carolina Women’s Lacrosse is absolutely on a tear, as the Tar Heels are putting up an average of 20 goals per game themselves, but have also limited teams to seven goals or less in all of their four wins. The Tar Heels just blew out defending-national champion Maryland, 19-6, and have no signs of slowing down. Northwestern is averaging 21.6 goals per game, and also averaging 27.3 goals per game in each of its wins.

Back to Hobart. It is incredibly obvious that this Hobart offense has absolutely no fear right now. They are playing with a ton of confidence. They seem to personify this quote by former president George W. Bush:

“If it feels good, do it.”

And, I think it is safe to say the Hobart offense is feeling very, very good about what they are doing right now as the top scoring Men’s Division I team in NCAA Lacrosse.

There’s a battle in Worcester, Massachusetts tonight at 5:05 p.m. ET. Holy Cross hosts in-state foe, Harvard, in what should be a slugfest in today’s lacrosse game of the day.

Harvard comes into this game on a hot-streak after spoiling UMass’ home opener in a one-goal, 10-9 win. On the other hand, the Crusaders have played four of its NCAA games and currently sit at 3-1 (wins against Vermont, Merrimack and UMass-Lowell).

The Hofstra Pride hosted the University of Michigan on February 15, 2020, walking away with the 12-9 win over the NCAA Big Ten member Wolverines. Ryan Tierney was virtually a one-man wrecking crew against Michigan, having four goals and four assists and accounting for two-thirds of Hofstra’s 12 goals on the day. Ryan Sheridan pitched in a hat trick for the Pride, while Bryce Clay had three goals himself in the losing effort for the Wolverines.

The game was tied at halftime, but Hofstra went outscored Michigan 6-3 in the second half to grab the win.

Joe Conley is a junior defenseman for Chelmsford High School in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts. He is the second 2021 member to be featured for the PrimeTime Lacrosse Colonial Clash All-Tournament team (plays club ball for HGR 2021 Blue)

Conley has top tier athleticism and uses his stick extremely well. He committed to Merrimack College back in 2018, which is a testament to his talent. Merrimack is transitioning to Division 1 this year after winning back to back Division 2 Men’s Lacrosse Championships.

Nicholas Bloom is a junior faceoff specialist for Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, Massachusetts. He is the first 2021 member to be featured for the PrimeTime Lacrosse Colonial Clash All-Tournament team. His lightning hand speed and ability to make plays outside of the X makes him a special player.

Bloom dishes accurate passes to attackmen and is capable of putting the ball in the back of the net. He plays for both the 2020 and 2021 groups for Coyotes Lacrosse, which is a testament to his talent. Here are his fall 2019 highlights:

Max Patterson is a senior longstick midfielder for the Cape Elizabeth boy’s lacrosse team in New Hampshire and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the PrimeTime Lacrosse Colonial Clash.

This past spring, Patterson won the Cape Elizabeth Capers Male Spring Athlete of the Year Award. He finished the 2019 season with 47 ground balls and 30 caused turnovers. Max shutdown offensive threats throughout the year and helped Cape Elizabeth get to the Class A South Final where they fell just short of a state championship.

Patterson is committed to Bates College and plays for the New Hampshire Tomahawks Purple. Bates finished with a 10-5 overall record last year in NCAA Division III lacrosse.

First up, we have the captain of the San Diego Seals and PLL Chaos, Brodie Merrill.  Brodie is now 38 years old but you wouldn’t be able to tell it from the way he continues to excel at the game.  He is also in the opinion of this show the greatest long pole of all time, having the LSM player of the year award in the PLL named after him, even while he is still an active player.  We talk about the Seals early struggles, an unusual goaltending situation in the Seals last game, his work at the Hill Academy and reflect back on perhaps the game that meant the most to him, the 2006 ILF World Championship final.

Next up is the guy who is certainly the best goaltender overall in both disciplines, Dillon Ward of the Colorado Mammoth and Denver Outlaws.  We talk about the Mammoth’s recent ups and downs, how the #GoalieUnion is sparkling so far this year and everyone having fun with the new trending hashtag, #TradeWard.
