The two photos above are my favorite (no offense to Bocklet and Sieverts), but BuzzFeed picked up the story so you can see all 13 photos (including the ones with humans).

This might be the most important thing happening to Denver right now. There’s nothing else going on about another team that plays at Mile High Stadium, right?

If you haven’t seen this shot by now, you’ve been really out of the loop the past few days. John Grant Jr. scored a goal for the Colorado Mammoth that many are calling the best goal of all time. He actually scored on this same shot two seasons ago as well, but the consensus is that Junior outdid himself with this year’s version.

The shot made ESPN SportsCenter Top Plays and rang in at #3. That’s a lot of exposure for lacrosse – Grow the Game!

The NLL is back! But before opening night could officially kick off for Rochester, they had a little banner raising to do…

I love that the banner plays homage to the various backgrounds of players on the Knighthawks with the three flags. The dogs on either side of the trophy are a nice feature as well, possibly representing the K-Hawks back-to-back titles.

If you hadn’t heard, the NLL kicked off its preseason play this past weekend, and one city in particular seems very excited for the return of professional box lacrosse. What city is that? Philadelphia, where Philly Wings’ player Kevin Crowley is being featured on commemorative cups…during NBA games.

As a fan it seems pretty awesome that lacrosse is being featured on an item like this during Philadelphia 76ers home games. I can only imagine how cool that must have been for Crowley!

Since we’re in the middle of Hanukkah, it seemed like a good time to share one of Israel Lacrosse’s photos for Photo of the Week! Here we have some brand new players in Ashkelon, an Israeli city that is home to the Israel Lacrosse Association (ILA) and is the sister city of Baltimore.

Beyond its men’s and women’s national teams, the ILA has done a tremendous job growing the game in Israel by putting sticks into the hands of first time players of all ages and teaching school Physical Education instructors about lacrosse. A few weeks ago, University of Akron middie Nick Lopez tweeted us an awesome photo of two kids doing ballet while wearing lacrosse helmets and holding lacrosse sticks. I’m no dance expert, but I think those ballerinas would make pretty fierce lacrosse players!

Maybe Cascade should get in the dance business next! Or maybe not… either way, this is still a great Photo of the Week!

On Saturday, the LXM Pro Tour made its way to Orem, Utah. I personally wasn’t able to catch the game, but we sent a crew to check it out. STX posted this photo of Kyle Harrison on Instagram, and well, it speaks for itself.

Judging by this picture alone, it looks like that this was an awesome venue for a tournament and LXM game.

Over Labor Day weekend I was lucky enough to get to see some familiar faces here in Idaho. My parents decided to come out, from Ohio, for the long weekend, and when I got off work on Friday we drove from Boise to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. After a short stop in Jackson we headed north to spend some time in Yellowstone. It was my first trip to the park and it will most definitely not be my last. We took some time to soak in some pretty key locations and used the opportunity for photo ops. Our attire sparked some pretty unique conversations about lacrosse and how to #StringItForward.

Goalie Kip Turner and the defending MLL champion Bayhawks will try to repeat as champs this weekend as the No. 2 seed in the MLL playoffs. They face off against the third-seeded Nationals in their semifinal, with the winner playing the victor of undefeated No. 1 seed Denver and first time playoff contender Charlotte.

If Chesapeake wants a shot at the title, Turner will have to be on point his weekend, even when shots go wide.

This past weekend I suited up with Team TLN from The Lacrosse Network at the TribzLacrosse California Showcase. It was a great first year event, with teams from U11 through Masters.

Here’s a great shot captured by TLN’s Contest Colin. The player pictured is Southland Laxer Knute Kraus (Salisbury ’15), and not only is he rocking a jammy pack pre-game, but the Orange Balloon is prominently featured in the background.

The Orange Balloon is the main attraction of the Orange County Great Park, where the tournament was located. It’s a hot air balloon, and it was taking fans for rides during the tournament. I’m going to go on a limb here and say there aren’t many other tournaments with that perk!

I’ve been coaching camps all summer long, and the one I worked last week was my favorite one yet. It was four days of teaching mostly brand new players, and coaches were able to work with players in groups of five or less at a time. We were definitely able to see improvement over the week!

No camp is complete without games, though, and my favorite as a camp coach is Sharks and Minnows. Here’s the calm before the sharknado…

And it wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t show the aftermath, or rather, the craziness during!
